Welcome to the Assessment Page Home Contacts

Child assessment is of major importance to the delivery of an inclusive curriculum. It is important to assess children with any form of disability to be able to provide them with the best possible resources to aid their development. This shoud by no means be ruled out for older students and should continue into adult life. It is important to contact a reliable entity for this assessment so as to avoid wasting money and time on useless resources. Another very important aspect of assessment is the follow-up. Students should be trained to use the use equipment and progress should be monitored and evaluated by a professional. Assessment should also take place regularly. Re-assessing a child is important to follow his/her development and provide different support at the different stages. Locally there are number of entities providing assessment services. The Inclusive Network Assessment Unit known as ACTU is one of them. To learn more about the ACTU click here

Welcome to the Our Vision page Home Contacts

We believe in equity and the right for special needs students to recieve the best possible education and the best possible resources to facilitate it. We believe in the potential of every child to achieve social integration given the right tools.

We believe in the studetn's right to be provided with the necessary tools for success, the right to fulfill one's own potential, and to be given the right skills to find work in the long run, wherever possible. With this in mind, we do our best to help teachers and facilitators in providing a quality service.

In the future we hope to establish a stronger dialogue with school administration and staff. The introduction of Inclusion Coordinators at the end of 2006 should facilitate this dialogue. At the moment the whole schooling system is undergoing massive changes, when the dust settles we hope to have a solid assessment system for all students with special needs.

We also hope to have a fully adapted special needs curriculum for those students that operate below the NMC levels, (which is currenlty being worked on by a specialist team at the special schools network center). This will enable us to produce a number of on-screen accessible material for special needs children which we will make widely available online for download by means of this website.

Welcome to the Video Tutorials page Home Contacts

The resources on this page were developed for a course in touch screen software organised by the ICT SEN Unit.
At the end of the course the participants were given a CD with Video tutorials to help them remember what they had done during the lessons.

The Video tutorials are about:

1. Audacity: a free software that can be used to record sounds and voice for use in Power Point presentations or Touch screen software in MP3 format.

2. Calibrating a touch monitor. This may be necessary when a touch monitor is moved from one place to another and it stops being as sensitive to touch.

3. Unzipping a file and using SEN Switcher
